This project is a renovation and addition to the main house and a complete demolition of the detached back yard garage and new construction of an "accessory living quarter."  The project goal is to update and enlarge the main house to appeal to contemporary family living.  To achieve this, the entire roof is being raised to allow for a clerestory to achieve a light, open, and airy feeling.  The shared living areas have a formal procession but are modernized with an open floor plan.  The master suite is private and more separated from the rest of the home while the other two bedrooms are cozy with a shared bathroom.  The carport becomes part of the long sweeping roofline and helps define the contemporary exterior.  The accessory living quarter strives to maintain the open, airy feeling with its double-height living area and loft sleeping area.
