A homeowner planning a major remodel needed somewhere to live during construction — we designed a garage conversion ADU that solved that problem and doubled as a future rental.
The Situation
The client's planned remodel was so extensive that staying in the home during construction wasn't an option. Located in a desirable L.A. neighborhood, the property also presented a rental opportunity the client didn't want to pass up once the remodel was complete.
What We Did
We designed a garage conversion ADU that gave the client a comfortable place to live throughout the remodel, while building in the finishes and layout needed to function as a rental unit afterward.
The Outcome
The client had a livable space during construction and, once the remodel wrapped, a ready-to-rent ADU — turning a temporary need into a lasting income property.
